Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground turkey (93/7 lean)
- 1/2 onion, very finely diced or grated
- 2 tablespoons Greek seasoning (Cavenders or homemade)
- 2 eggs
- 1/4 cup bread crumbs
- 12 ounces frozen spinach, thawed and moisture squeezed out
- 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375˚F to prepare for baking the meatballs evenly.
- Mix Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, finely diced onion, Greek seasoning, eggs, bread crumbs, thawed and drained spinach, feta cheese, and olive oil. Use your hands to mix everything thoroughly until well incorporated.
- Form Meatballs: Shape the turkey mixture into 2-inch diameter meatballs. Arrange them on a baking sheet, spacing each about ½ inch apart to ensure even cooking.
- Bake Meatballs: Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer; it should read 165˚F to ensure they are fully cooked. If not, continue baking for an additional 3-5 minutes until the safe temperature is reached.
- Serve and Enjoy: Serve the meatballs warm or cold. They are excellent for meal prep and can be enjoyed in bowls, salads, subs, or on their own as a protein-packed snack.
Notes
- Make sure to squeeze out as much moisture as possible from the thawed spinach to prevent soggy meatballs.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure meatballs are safely cooked to an internal temperature of 165˚F.
- Ground turkey 93/7 is preferred for a good balance of flavor and leanness.
- These meatballs can be frozen after cooking for up to 3 months; thaw and reheat before serving.
- Feel free to substitute the Greek seasoning with your favorite spice blend if preferred.
