Ingredients
Scale
Vegetables
- 500g ripe tomatoes, off the vine and quartered or halved
- 1 small onion, chopped
- ½ small carrot, chopped
- ½ celery stick, chopped
Others
- 1 tsp tomato purée
- Pinch of sugar
- 450ml vegetable stock
Instructions
- Prepare the ingredients: Wash and quarter or halve the ripe tomatoes. Chop the onion, carrot, and celery into small pieces to ensure they blend smoothly.
- Add to soup maker: Place all prepared vegetables, tomato purée, a pinch of sugar, and the vegetable stock into the soup maker. Ensure the amount does not exceed the maximum fill line specified by your soup maker model.
- Start the soup maker: Select and press the ‘smooth soup’ function on your soup maker. The appliance will cook and blend the ingredients automatically, usually taking around 20-25 minutes depending on your machine.
- Season and adjust: Once the cycle completes, open the lid and season the soup well with salt and additional sugar if needed to taste. Add more tomato purée for deeper color and enhanced tomato flavor if desired.
- Serve: Serve the smooth tomato soup hot, garnished with fresh herbs or a swirl of cream if you like.
Notes
- Do not overfill your soup maker beyond the maximum fill line to avoid spillage.
- Adjust sugar and salt according to your taste and the sweetness of the tomatoes used.
- For a richer flavor, you can add a small clove of garlic or some fresh herbs such as basil before blending.
- If you want a chunkier texture, use the chunky soup function if available or blend for less time.
