Ingredients
Scale
Slider Base
- 12 Hawaiian rolls
- 2 heaping cups shredded chicken (rotisserie chicken recommended)
- 4 ounces provolone cheese, sliced
Glaze
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted (salted or unsalted)
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon poppy seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 350˚F (175˚C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
- Prepare Rolls: Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves evenly in a baking dish, forming the base layer for the sliders.
- Assemble Sliders: Evenly spread the shredded chicken over the bottom halves of the rolls. Next, layer the slices of provolone cheese on top of the chicken. Cover with the top halves of the rolls, then use a serrated knife to cut between each slider to make them easier to serve after baking.
- Make Glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, honey, dijon mustard, poppy seeds, and salt until smooth and well combined. This will add flavor and help brown the tops during baking.
- Glaze and Bake: Evenly brush or spoon the glaze over the tops and in between each slider to coat them fully. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the tops are golden brown and slightly crispy.
Notes
- Using rotisserie chicken saves time and adds great flavor, but you can substitute with any cooked shredded chicken.
- If you prefer different cheese, mozzarella or cheddar can be great alternatives.
- Make sure to cut between the sliders after assembling but before baking to serve easily.
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of crushed red pepper to the glaze.
- Serve warm for best taste and gooey cheese texture.
