Scarecrow Nutter Butters Recipe

  • Author: Noah
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 10 scarecrow nutter butter cookies 1x

Description

Create festive and fun Scarecrow Nutter Butters, a delightful Halloween-themed treat featuring nutter butter cookies dipped in white chocolate and decorated with candy eyes, candy corn, graham crackers, and mini shredded wheat for a spooky scarecrow look. Perfect for holiday parties and fun family snacks.

Ingredients

Scale

Cookies and Candy Decorations

  • 10 nutter butter cookies
  • 20 candy eyeball sprinkles
  • 10 candy corns
  • 6 half graham crackers
  • 6 mini shredded wheat pieces

Chocolate and Frosting

  • 1 bag Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers
  • 1/2 cup orange candy melts
  • 1 tube black sparkle gel (Wilton)

Instructions

  1. Melt White Chocolate: Melt the Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers according to the package directions, usually by heating in short intervals in the microwave or using a double boiler until smooth.
  2. Dip Cookies: Dip each nutter butter cookie into the melted white chocolate to coat it, then place the dipped cookies on freezer paper or parchment paper for easy removal later. Work quickly to add decorations before the chocolate sets.
  3. Assemble Scarecrow Face: Press a larger piece of graham cracker at the top of each dipped cookie to form the hat brim. Add two candy eyeball sprinkles as eyes and place one candy corn in the center as the nose. Position a mini shredded wheat piece on each side just below the graham cracker to simulate the straw hair.
  4. Melt and Apply Orange Candy Melts: Melt the orange candy melts according to package instructions. Brush the melted orange candy onto the graham cracker pieces, then place the smaller graham cracker half over the top to complete the scarecrow’s hat.
  5. Draw Mouth: Use the black sparkle gel to carefully draw a mouth on each scarecrow face. Allow all the decorations and chocolate to fully dry and set before serving for the best presentation.

Notes

  • Work quickly when dipping and decorating to prevent the white chocolate from hardening too soon.
  • You can substitute candy eyes with small edible googly eyes if preferred.
  • Keep finished treats refrigerated if not serving immediately to maintain chocolate firmness.
  • Use freezer or parchment paper to avoid sticking and ease cleanup.
  • Customize by swapping orange candy melts for other colors based on seasonal themes.
