Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 16 frozen rolls
Sauce and Cheese
- ½ cup marinara sauce
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Toppings
- 16 pepperoni slices
- ⅓ cup Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
- ½ bell pepper, diced
- 1 ounce black olives, sliced
Seasoning
- ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
Instructions
- Prepare the dough: Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish. Place 16 frozen roll dough balls in the dish. Cover with plastic wrap and set in a warm spot to rise. Let rise for 2.5-4 hours, or until they have doubled in size. Keep in mind that rise time can vary depending on the warmth and humidity.
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375˚F (190˚C) to prepare for baking the pizza.
- Form the crust: After the rolls have risen, gently press them down with your fingertips and work them together to create a solid, connected base for the pizza in the baking dish.
- Add sauce and cheese: Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the crust, then sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top.
- Top the pizza: Arrange the pepperoni slices, cooked Italian sausage, diced bell peppers, and sliced black olives over the cheese. Finally, sprinkle the Italian seasoning uniformly across the pizza.
- Bake: Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for 18-24 minutes, until the cheese is fully melted, the edges are golden brown, and the rolls are cooked through.
- Serve: Carefully use a spatula to slide the pizza out of the baking dish—it will be hot! Pull apart the rolls along the natural seams to serve each pull-apart slice of pizza.
Notes
- Allow the rolls plenty of time to rise in a warm environment to ensure the pizza crust is light and fluffy.
- The toppings can be customized with your favorite pizza ingredients.
- If you prefer, you can use fresh dough instead of frozen rolls but adjust the rise time accordingly.
- Be cautious when removing the pizza from the dish as it will be hot and cheesy.
- This recipe works well for sharing and makes a fun appetizer or main dish.
