Ingredients
Scale
Steak
- 1 lb sirloin or ribeye steak, sliced into thin strips
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
Sauce and Ravioli
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 shallot, finely chopped (optional)
- 12 oz cheese ravioli (fresh or refrigerated)
- 1 cup water
Garnish
- 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
- Red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
Instructions
- Season and Sear Steak: Season the steak strips generously with salt and black pepper. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the steak strips and sear for 2–3 minutes on each side until nicely browned. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté Garlic and Shallot: Lower the heat to medium. Add 2 tablespoons of butter to the same skillet along with the minced garlic and chopped shallot, if using. Sauté for 1–2 minutes, stirring constantly, until fragrant and the shallot is golden.
- Cook Ravioli: Pour 1 cup of water into the skillet and bring it to a gentle simmer. Add the cheese ravioli directly into the skillet. Cover with a lid and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the ravioli are tender and cooked through.
- Combine Steak and Sauce: Return the cooked steak strips to the skillet. Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of butter and gently toss everything to coat the steak and ravioli evenly with the garlic butter sauce.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley and optional red pepper flakes over the top. Serve immediately while hot for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Use fresh or refrigerated ravioli for best texture; frozen may require additional cooking time.
- If you prefer a spicier dish, increase or adjust the amount of red pepper flakes according to taste.
- Substitute the shallot with finely chopped onion if unavailable.
- Be sure not to overcook the ravioli; cooking times may vary based on brand and type.
- For a richer flavor, use ribeye steak, but sirloin works well for a leaner option.
