  • Author: Noah
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 10 turkey-themed cookies 1x

Description

These adorable Nutter Butter Turkeys are a fun and festive treat perfect for Thanksgiving celebrations. Using simple ingredients like Nutter Butter cookies, candy melts, and candy eyes, this no-bake recipe creates a playful turkey design that’s easy to make and delightful to eat. Perfect for kids or as a creative dessert centerpiece, these turkeys combine crunchy cookies with sweet melted candy accents for a festive holiday snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Cookies and Candy

  • 10 Nutter Butter cookies
  • 20 medium candy eyeballs
  • 10 orange M&M’s or Reese’s Pieces

Candy Melts

  • 6 oz. chocolate candy melts
  • 1/3 cup red candy melts

Instructions

  1. Melt Candy Melts: Melt both the chocolate candy melts and the red candy melts separately following the instructions on their respective packaging. This usually involves heating them in the microwave in short intervals, stirring frequently until smooth.
  2. Dip Nutter Butter Cookies: Dip half of each Nutter Butter cookie into the melted chocolate candy melts to coat that side. Then place the dipped cookies on parchment paper or freezer paper, ensuring the shiny side is facing up to dry properly.
  3. Add Eyes and Nose: While the chocolate coating is still wet, carefully place two candy eyeballs at the top of each cookie to form the turkey’s eyes. Then, press one orange M&M or Reese’s Piece onto each cookie below the eyes to serve as the nose. Allow these to set and dry.
  4. Apply Red Candy Melt Detail: Using a small pastry brush, dab a small amount of the red candy melts next to the nose on each cookie to mimic the turkey’s wattle. Let the red candy melts dry completely before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute candy eyeballs with small white and black icing dots if unavailable.
  • If red candy melts are not available, colored icing can be used for the wattle detail.
  • For quicker firming, you can refrigerate the cookies after applying candy melts.
  • Handle dipped cookies gently to avoid smudging the design before drying.
