  • Author: Noah
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Low Carb

Description

A hearty and low-carb Keto Hamburger and Broccoli Skillet combining savory ground beef with tender broccoli florets and creamy melted cheddar cheese, perfect for a quick and satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend for rich flavor)
  • 2 cups broccoli florets, chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream

Seasonings & Oils

  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional for a spicy kick)

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Once fully browned, drain any excess fat from the skillet to keep the dish lighter.
  2. Sauté broccoli and seasonings: Add the chopped broccoli florets to the skillet along with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Stir and cook until the broccoli is just tender but still vibrant green, about 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add cream and cheese: Reduce the heat to low. Stir in the heavy cream and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Continue stirring until the cheese melts completely and combines smoothly with the cream, coating the beef and broccoli.
  4. Melt remaining cheese and serve: Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese on top. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it sit for 2-3 minutes on low heat, allowing the cheese to melt thoroughly. Serve hot directly from the skillet for a comforting keto meal.

Notes

  • Use an 80/20 ground beef blend to ensure the dish stays juicy and flavorful.
  • For a spicier flavor, adjust the amount of red pepper flakes or omit them to keep it mild.
  • Broccoli can be steamed briefly beforehand if preferred for a softer texture.
  • This dish is low-carb and suitable for a ketogenic diet.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
