Ingredients
Scale
Eggs
- 8 Small eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
Other Ingredients
- 4 Croissants
- 4 slices cheese
- 4 slices ham
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (180 degrees C) to prepare for baking the assembled croissants.
- Whisk Eggs: In a large bowl, whisk together 4 of the small eggs until smooth.
- Season Eggs: Add salt and pepper to the whisked eggs according to your taste preferences.
- Preheat Skillet: Heat a medium skillet over medium heat to cook the eggs.
- Cook Eggs: Pour the whisked eggs into the skillet and cook until set. Divide the cooked eggs in half and flip to cook both sides evenly. Fold the egg into a square-like shape by folding it in half twice, or as close to square as possible.
- Repeat Egg Cooking: Repeat the whisking, seasoning, and cooking process for the remaining 4 eggs to create a second batch.
- Assemble Croissants: Slice each croissant in half horizontally. On the bottom half, layer one slice of ham, one cooked egg square, and one slice of cheese. Then place the top half of the croissant over the filling.
- Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the assembled croissants on it, spaced evenly.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake the croissants until the cheese melts and the ham is warmed through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and enjoy your warm, melty ham, egg, and cheese croissants immediately.
Notes
- You can use any cheese of your choice such as cheddar, Swiss, or American for different flavors.
- For extra crispness, you can toast the croissants lightly before assembling.
- Adjust seasoning with your preferred herbs like chives or parsley for added freshness.
- Make sure not to overcook the eggs to keep them soft and tender inside the croissant.
