Description

A quick and flavorful recipe combining tender garlic butter steak strips with savory noodles, perfect for a satisfying weeknight meal. The garlic butter sauce enhances the rich flavors of the steak and soy sauce, while fresh parsley adds brightness and a touch of color.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak and Noodles

  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into thin strips
  • 8 oz noodles (spaghetti or egg noodles)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Sauce and Garnish

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (1/2 stick)
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Noodles: In a pot of boiling salted water, cook the noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside to keep warm.
  2. Season the Steak: While the noodles are cooking, pat the steak strips dry and season them evenly with salt and pepper to enhance their natural flavor.
  3. Heat the Skillet: Place a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, melt 2 tablespoons of the unsalted butter in the skillet, allowing it to coat the pan evenly.
  4. Cook the Steak: Add the seasoned steak strips into the skillet. Cook for approximately 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak is browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove the steak from the skillet and set aside.
  5. Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter along with the minced garlic. Sauté for 1 to 2 minutes until the garlic becomes fragrant and lightly golden, being careful not to burn it.
  6. Combine Noodles and Sauce: Add the cooked noodles to the skillet with the garlic butter. Pour in the soy sauce and toss everything together thoroughly, allowing the noodles to absorb the savory flavors.
  7. Reintroduce the Steak: Return the cooked steak strips to the skillet and mix them with the noodles. Continue cooking for another 2 minutes to heat through evenly. Taste and season with additional salt, pepper, or red pepper flakes if you prefer some heat.
  8. Garnish and Serve: Transfer the noodles and steak to serving plates. Garnish generously with the chopped fresh parsley. Serve immediately while hot for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Use sirloin or ribeye steak for the best balance of tenderness and flavor.
  • Substitute soy sauce with tamari for a gluten-free option.
  • Red pepper flakes are optional but add a nice spicy kick.
  • Egg noodles give a richer texture, while spaghetti keeps it classic.
  • Cook noodles just until al dente to prevent mushiness after tossing with sauce.
  • Leftover steak can be used, but fresh-cooked steak will yield the best flavor.
