  • Yield: 10 slices (5 pieces per half loaf) 1x

Description

This Garlic Bread Pizza recipe transforms classic garlic bread into a delicious, cheesy pizza loaded with pepperoni and fresh veggies. Crispy on the edges and gooey with melted mozzarella, it’s an easy oven-baked dish perfect for a quick snack or casual meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Garlic Butter

  • 1/4 cup butter (softened)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 clove garlic (pressed, or 1 tsp garlic paste)
  • 1 pinch red pepper flakes

Main

  • 1 loaf French bread
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 ounces pepperoni (sliced)
  • 1/4 cup diced bell pepper
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400˚F (204˚C) to prepare for toasting and baking the garlic bread pizza.
  2. Make Garlic Butter: In a bowl, mix together softened butter, fresh parsley, dried basil, dried thyme, kosher salt, pressed garlic, and a pinch of red pepper flakes until well combined.
  3. Prepare the Bread: Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise. Spread the prepared garlic butter evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  4. Toast the Bread: Place the buttered bread halves on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 5–8 minutes, or until the tops are toasted and edges golden brown.
  5. Add Toppings: Remove the toasted bread from the oven. Evenly spread marinara sauce over each piece, then sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top. Add pepperoni, diced bell pepper, sliced black olives, and mushrooms as desired.
  6. Bake the Pizza: Return the topped garlic bread halves to the oven and bake for 10–15 minutes, until the cheese is fully melted and toppings are heated through.
  7. Serve: Slice each bread half into 5 pieces, serve immediately while hot and cheesy.

Notes

  • You can customize the toppings with your favorite vegetables or meats.
  • For a crispier crust, broil for an additional 1-2 minutes after baking but watch closely to avoid burning.
  • Use fresh garlic if available for more vibrant flavor compared to garlic paste.
  • Store leftover pizza refrigerated and reheat in the oven for best texture.
  • For a vegetarian version, omit the pepperoni or substitute with plant-based alternatives.
