  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

Potato Layer:

  • 3 lbs potatoes (peeled and sliced into 1/4-inch rounds)
  • 4 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

Creamy Topping:

  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Meat Filling: Heat vegetable oil in a skillet, sauté onions and bell pepper. Add ground beef, cook until browned, season, and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Potato Layer: Preheat oven. Toss potato slices with oil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. Assemble the Moussaka: Layer potatoes, meat filling, repeat, and finish with potatoes.
  4. Bake the Moussaka (Covered): Cover with foil, bake at 450°F for 40 minutes.
  5. Prepare the Creamy Topping: Whisk eggs, sour cream, and heavy cream until smooth.
  6. Final Bake (Uncovered): Pour topping over potatoes, bake uncovered for 20 minutes until golden.
  7. Rest and Serve: Let it rest for 15–20 minutes before serving.
