Instructions
- Prepare the egg mixture: In a bowl or shallow dish, whisk together the 4 large eggs, 1 ¼ cup heavy cream, and 2 tablespoons powdered sugar until fully combined and smooth.
- Cook the French toast: Heat 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a skillet over medium heat until melted. Dip one or two slices of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are evenly coated. Place the soaked bread slices onto the skillet and cook for 3 to 4 minutes on each side, or until they turn a golden brown color. Repeat this process with all the bread slices.
- Caramelize the bananas: In the same skillet, add 4 tablespoons unsalted butter and melt over medium heat. Sprinkle ½ cup brown sugar evenly over the melted butter. Place the banana halves cut side down on the butter-sugar mixture and cook for about 2 to 3 minutes until golden brown. Flip the bananas carefully and cook the other side for another 2 to 3 minutes.
