  • Author: Noah
  • Total Time: 25 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This Citrus Rosemary Spritz is a refreshing, vibrant cocktail combining the tartness of blood orange, grapefruit, and lime with the aromatic essence of rosemary simple syrup. Perfectly balanced with cold Prosecco and a splash of 7UP, this spritz offers a delightful fusion of citrus flavors and herbal notes, served over ice and garnished elegantly for any festive occasion or casual gathering.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Rosemary Simple Syrup

  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 6 sprigs fresh rosemary
  • 1 cup water

For the Cocktail

  • 2 blood oranges, juiced
  • 1 grapefruit, juiced
  • ½ lime, juiced
  • 8 tbsp rosemary simple syrup
  • ½ bottle cold Ogio Prosecco
  • 1 cup 7UP
  • Ice, as needed
  • 4 sprigs fresh rosemary (for garnish)
  • 1 slice blood orange, cut into quarters (for garnish)
  • 1 slice grapefruit, cut into quarters (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make Rosemary Simple Syrup: Combine ¼ cup sugar, 6 sprigs fresh rosemary, and 1 cup water in a small saucepan. Heat over medium heat and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the sugar is fully dissolved and the rosemary flavor infuses the syrup. Remove from heat and let cool for about 15 minutes. Once cooled, strain out the rosemary sprigs. Refrigerate the syrup for up to one week.
  2. Prepare Citrus Juices: Juice 2 blood oranges, 1 grapefruit, and ½ lime, ensuring no seeds are included. Set the fresh juices aside.
  3. Mix the Cocktail: In a large mixing glass or pitcher, combine the blood orange juice, grapefruit juice, lime juice, and 8 tablespoons of the prepared rosemary simple syrup. Stir well to blend the flavors.
  4. Add Prosecco and 7UP: Gently pour in half a bottle of cold Ogio Prosecco followed by 1 cup of 7UP. Stir lightly to combine without losing the fizz.
  5. Serve: Fill four champagne glasses with ice to your liking. Strain the cocktail mixture evenly into the glasses over the ice.
  6. Garnish: Decorate each glass with a sprig of fresh rosemary, a quarter slice of blood orange, and a quarter slice of grapefruit to enhance the aroma and visual appeal.

Notes

  • Rosemary simple syrup can be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Use fresh citrus fruits for the best flavor; bottled juices may alter the taste.
  • Adjust the sweetness by varying the amount of rosemary simple syrup according to your preference.
  • Serve immediately after assembling the cocktail to preserve the Prosecco’s fizz.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, replace the Prosecco with sparkling water or extra 7UP.
