Slider Ingredients
- 12 Hawaiian rolls
- 9 chicken tenders (cooked and prepared)
- 6 slices Colby Jack cheese
- 2 cups shredded lettuce
- 2 Roma tomatoes, sliced
Glaze
- 2 tablespoons salted butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
- 2 teaspoons honey
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350˚F (175˚C) to prepare for baking the sliders.
- Prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the melted salted butter, Dijon mustard, and honey until fully combined, creating a sweet and tangy glaze.
- Chop the chicken tenders: On a cutting board, cut the cooked chicken tenders into bite-sized pieces for easy layering on the sliders.
- Assemble the sliders: Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves into a baking dish. Layer the slices of Colby Jack cheese evenly over the bottom rolls, then distribute the chopped chicken pieces on top of the cheese. Place the top halves of the rolls over the chicken, forming the sliders.
- Apply the glaze: Using a brush, generously coat the tops of the assembled sliders with the honey mustard glaze, ensuring they will be flavorful and golden when baked.
- Bake the sliders: Place the baking dish in the oven and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the sliders are heated through.
- Add fresh toppings and serve: Remove the sliders from the oven. Using a spatula, carefully lift the tops of the sliders to add shredded lettuce and sliced Roma tomatoes evenly over the chicken. Replace the tops and serve the sliders immediately for the best texture and taste.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add pickles or mayonnaise under the lettuce if desired.
- Ensure chicken tenders are cooked fully before assembling; you can use leftover fried or baked tenders.
- If preferred, substitute Colby Jack cheese with cheddar or mozzarella for different cheese flavors.
- These sliders are best served fresh but can be wrapped and refrigerated for up to 2 days; reheat in the oven until warmed through.
