Caramel Toffee Pretzel Rods with Chocolate Drizzle Recipe

  • Author: Noah
  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 20 caramel pretzel rods 1x

Description

Deliciously sweet and crunchy caramel pretzels coated with toffee chips and drizzled with melted chocolate, perfect for gifting or snacking. These treats combine the salty crunch of pretzel rods with creamy caramel and smooth chocolate for an irresistible dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 20 pretzel rods
  • 1 8-ounce bag toffee chips
  • 1 11-ounce bag caramels, unwrapped
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 4 ounces milk, dark, or white chocolate (or a mix), melted for drizzling
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pretzels and Toffee: Place the pretzel rods on a sheet of parchment paper. Pour the toffee chips onto a plate to have them ready for coating.
  2. Melt the Caramel Mixture: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the unwrapped caramels and heavy cream. Microwave in 30-second increments, stirring well after each until the caramel is fully melted and smooth.
  3. Dip and Coat Pretzels: Dip each pretzel rod into the warm caramel mixture, covering about two-thirds of the pretzel. Immediately roll the caramel-coated portion in the toffee chips, pressing gently so the toffee adheres. Place the coated pretzels back onto the parchment paper and repeat with the remaining rods.
  4. Melt and Drizzle Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate and coconut oil. Microwave until melted and smooth, stirring every 15 seconds to avoid burning. Using a spoon, drizzle the melted chocolate over the caramel and toffee-covered pretzels. Allow them to set completely at room temperature for about 30 minutes.
  5. Store and Serve: Once set, store the caramel pretzels in a container separated by parchment layers or wrap each individually in parchment paper and place in a resealable bag. They can be made 1 to 2 weeks ahead of time and stay fresh.

Notes

  • You can use milk, dark, white chocolate, or a combination for drizzling according to your preference.
  • The caramel pretzels can be made in advance and stored for up to two weeks.
  • Ensure the caramel is not too hot when dipping to prevent melting the pretzels.
  • Use parchment paper to prevent sticking while the caramel sets.
