Delicious and crispy Air Fryer Fish Tacos with a zesty cabbage slaw, perfect for a quick and healthy meal.
Ingredients
Cod:
- 1 pound cod filets (cut into strips, about 2–3 filets)
- 2 Tablespoon lime juice
- 1 teaspoon avocado oil
- 1/4 cup cornmeal (or whole wheat bread crumbs)
- 1/2 teaspoon ancho chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 salt
- oil spray
Cabbage Slaw:
- 1/2 cup light sour cream (or plain whole milk Greek yogurt)
- 2 Tablespoons lime juice
- 1/4 teaspoon ancho chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1–2 cup chopped red cabbage
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Additional:
- 6 medium whole wheat flour or corn tortillas
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- drizzle hot sauce (optional)
- extra fresh cilantro
Instructions
- Bread & Prepare Cod
Cut the fish filets into strips and place them in a glass dish.
- Marinate The Fish
Coat each piece of fish in lime juice and avocado oil. Set aside.
- Mix Cornmeal & Seasoning
Mix the cornmeal, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and salt together in a shallow dish.
- Preheat Air Fryer
Spray the air fryer basket with oil and preheat the air fryer to 390 degrees F.
- Bread Fish Strips
Remove the fish strips from the marinade, dip them in the cornmeal mixture, and coat each side.
- Air Fry Fish
Cook the fish in the air fryer at 390 degrees F for about 8-10 minutes, without flipping.
- Mix Cabbage Slaw
Mix sour cream, lime juice, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Add cabbage and cilantro.
- Prepare Tacos
Heat tortillas, then assemble tacos with fish, slaw, cheese, cilantro, and hot sauce.
